Replacement, in the event of death of a small animal or poultry project, will not be permitted after July 1 of current year. In the event of a sick animal, eliminating the exhibit from fair, the exhibitor must have a signed, original letter from the veterinarian. This is only applicable June 30 to 24 hours before the weigh-in at the fair
Rabbit - General Regulations
1. Participants must have project animals for the Hamilton County Fair exhibits in their possession and continual care on and after May 1.
a. Meat rabbits must be in possession by June 1 of current year.
2. In the event that an exhibitor cannot get an animal to be exhibited tattooed, it can be tattooed by the Species Coordinator.
a. Participants must call the Coordinator to make tattooing arrangements.
3. Each Jr. Fair project animal must have a permanent and legible tattoo in its left ear.
a. Animals without a permanent and legible tattoo will not be permitted to exhibit in Jr. Fair classes.
4. Rabbit project animals may be inspected by the Species Coordinator/Educator on/or after the project’s possession date.
5. Exhibitors must register the tattoo numbers of all rabbits they wish to show at the Hamilton County Fair with the Extension Office by June 22, 2007, 4:30 PM.
6. In addition to the breeding classes, an exhibitor is permitted to exhibit two (2) meat pens and two (2) single fryers.
7. An exhibitor entering a meat rabbit class MUST exhibit one other rabbit in a Jr. Fair rabbit class.
8. An exhibitor may use a single rabbit from his/her meat rabbit exhibit in showmanship classes.
9. Meat rabbit exhibits are intended for slaughter; therefore they may only be shown once in a Jr. Fair class.
10. Rabbits exhibited in a Jr. Fair meat rabbit class may not be exhibited later in a Jr. Fair class by any other Jr. Fair participant.
11. Pens of rabbits are to be raised from a litter of a doe owned by the participant.
12. Participants may not share a doe.
13. Participant must own and possess the doe by May 1, 2007.
14. Participant must notify the Species Coordinator by June 1 that their meat pen was born.
15. Meat pen exhibits are to consist of three (3) rabbits.
a. Each rabbit must weigh a minimum of three (3) pounds and a maximum of five (5) pounds,
b. Each rabbit may not be older than 10 weeks.
16. A meat pen exhibit weighing less than nine (9) pounds or more than fifteen (15) pounds will NOT be permitted to sell in the Livestock Sale.
17. A single fryer consists of one rabbit.
a. Minimum weight of 3 (three) pounds
b. Maximum weight of 5 (five) pounds.
c. Age cannot exceed 90 days.

B - $2.00
C - $1.00
Exhibits will be graded on an A, B, and C basis, and placed on a 1, 2, and 3 basis.
Awards and/or Rosettes will be awarded to First, Second, and Third place in each class.
